    Multicast VPN (MVPN) is a technology that allows service providers to use multicast services to send data packets in the core network. 

    MVPNs use MPLS clouds to transmit data packets between two PE routers. MVPN encapsulates multicast packets from a private network so that they can be forwarded along a multicast distribution tree (MDT) on a public network.
